"Working for Major Motorsport has the family factor but along with professionalism of an experienced team, with an art to detail (Simon's lists!). I have had a break from competing to concentrate on working for Major Motorsport, to help to run the various cars across the UK in different championships. My favorite rally has to be West Cork, as I have been going there since 13 years of age!" |

Matt Humphris
Matt has been into rallying from the age of 14. He started out doing a few road rally’s in the 80’s but had his first proper rallying experience when he took part in the Nissan Micra Challenge in 1995.
The first time Matt entered a "proper" forest rally stage was on the Pirelli Rally, on the year when it started as a 28 mile stage in Pundershaw, Carlie. (Talk about jumping in head first!). Matt has been involved with Micra’s ever since. His best result was winning the National Mintex Ancro series in 2002 for class A5 in a Micra. "My favourite rally has to be the Isle of Man. I have known Simon for 20 years and raced against him when he was driving in the Ford KA rally championship. In the past 4 or 5 years I have been working very closely with Simon on his Micra projects. His attention to detail, preparation and knowledge is superb and its worthy of anything a works team could do. We have both had a lot of fun and learnt a lot from each other’s motorsport and business experience" |
Billy MaugerSimon's nephew Billy has started to help out on events. He has grown up with rallying so is very familiar with the sport. Billy also competes in Motor Cross on his own bike which he maintains himself.
"My favourite rally has to be Jersey because of the people and atmosphere is great. It was a great learning experience for me, also it's a great laugh too! I think Major Motorsport is a great company and has done very well over the past couple of years to get a real good name for themselves and the Juniors have learned from the best and they are a great bunch of people!" |
